Of course, you will need to make multiple copies of the worksheet for your students. Consider printing one copy of the worksheet at home or in your classroom, and using the color copier in your school office, if one is available. If your worksheet has a lot of color on it, then it will use up your printer ink pretty quickly. If your school does not have a color copier, then consider taking the worksheet to a quick copy place like Kinkos or Office Max to run the copies for you. This won’t cost you an arm and a leg, and your copies will be done quickly and easily.
Conclusion, There are two fundamental problems with worksheets. First, young children do not learn from them what teachers and parents believe they do (Kostelnik, Soderman, & Whiren, 1993). Second, children’s time should be spent in more beneficial endeavors (Willis, 1995). The use of abstract numerals and letters, rather than concrete materials, puts too many young children at risk of school failure. This has implications for years to come. Worksheets and workbooks should be used in schools only when children are older and developmentally ready to profit from them (Bredekamp, S. & Rosegrant, T., 1992). Our challenge is to convince parents and others that in a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum children are learning important knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will help them be successful in school and later life.

Open PowerPoint and click “layout.” Select the blank layout. When I started creating, I used Microsoft Word. I can’t even tell you how overjoyed I was the day I learned to use PowerPoint instead! It is SO much easier to move things around where you want them!

Make yourself an outline of what you want included. You must then decide how you want to present the questions or puzzles to the students. Do you want to make it a word search puzzle with a secret message at the bottom of the worksheet to reinforce a lesson concept? Do you want it to be a multiple choice or fill-in-the-blank worksheet whereas students need to use their textbooks in order to answer the questions correctly?
